Wall Street is moving onto the blockchain. Securitize announced on October 8, 2026 that it will tokenize 12 major US stocks on the Solana network. The companies include Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla. Each token will be backed by a real company share held by Securitize’s own brokerage. This is different from synthetic products that only track stock prices.

Real shares, real rights

The key point is that these tokens represent actual shares. Securitize holds the real stocks through its licensed brokerage. Investors who own the tokens may receive dividends and voting rights, just like normal shareholders. However, there is an important detail. The tokens only give full shareholder rights if the investor converts them into registered shares. Until then, holders get the economic benefits through the token.

Where the tokens will trade

The tokens will first trade on Securitize’s own Solana-based platform. The company also plans to list them on the New York Stock Exchange’s proposed 24/7 digital venue and on the OKX-ICE Tokenized Securities Venue. Both of those venues still need regulatory approval. The big question is whether stocks can move onto blockchain without weakening investor protections. Those protections are standard in traditional markets and took decades to build.

Part of a bigger trend

This move is part of a wider push to put real-world assets on blockchain. Banks and asset managers are racing to tokenize stocks, bonds, and funds. They want trading that never closes and settlement that takes seconds instead of days. Solana was chosen for its speed and low costs. If regulators approve the new trading venues, investors could one day buy Apple or Tesla stock at midnight on a Sunday. That would be a fundamental change to how markets work.

The tokenization race heats up

Securitize is not alone in this race. Crypto exchange Bybit has launched real US stock trading funded with USDC, according to industry reports. Traditional exchanges are watching closely. Former CFTC chair Caroline Pham recently predicted that tokenized NYSE and Nasdaq stocks could arrive within two years. She said crypto can advance through agency rulemaking even without new laws from Congress.

The prize is huge. Global stock markets are worth over $100 trillion. Even a small slice moving on-chain would be transformative. Tokenized stocks could trade around the clock, settle instantly, and be used as collateral in DeFi apps. But regulators will decide how fast this happens. Investor protection rules were written for a world of brokers and business hours. Updating them for 24/7 blockchain markets will take time.
